What’s your role at Marsdens? Brand Quality Assessor
How long have you lived in North Devon? 12 years #trulylocal
What’s your absolute favourite place to visit in North Devon and why? I love the Lyn Valley – both Lynmouth and Lynton and the surrounding areas. My favourite dog walk with Gibson my flat-coated Retriever is from The Hunter’s Inn to Heddon’s Mouth, where Gibson can walk for most of the way in the river all the way down to the sea and pebble beach.
What’s your favourite café or restaurant in the area and what would you choose to eat there? Well, I have a few! The Siam Bistro in Braunton does great oriental cuisine; everything is cooked to order and is delicious. The Thatched Inn in Ilfracombe is very good for a Sunday roast – but you have to book because it gets very busy as the roasts are so good! And No 1 Lynton The Coffee Lounge is great for a veggie breakfast.
Where do you like to go if you’re a little bit thirsty and what’s your favourite tipple? I like to go to SQ in Braunton for a glass of Pinot or cocktails with the girls. The Black Horse in Braunton is a traditional pub and is very dog friendly and I also like The Beaver in Appledore which does great seafood and is also dog friendly.
What’s your favourite hobby or activity to do in North Devon and how do you unwind after a busy day in the office? I always take Gibson for an hours walk after work which is a great way to wind down after a busy day; we either go along the Tarka Trail, by the river or to Crow Point which has lovely views across the estuary.
What’s the one thing in North Devon you couldn’t live without? It would have to be sitting by the harbour in Lynmouth watching the sun go down behind Countisbury Hill.
