Built in 1752, this impressive Regency manor house enjoys panoramic views over lush green fields dotted with trees and hedges to the Taw Estuary and across the water to the hills beyond. Standing majestically in 69 acres of pasture and woodland and offering a wide range of leisure amenities including an indoor swimming pool, snooker room and ample grounds for activities and relaxation, this is an amazing place for eight guests to enjoy a Devon escape.

Tastefully converted into four apartments and two cottages the properties here are all managed by the owner, whose family have been in possession of the property since it was built. Whilst offering the chance to enjoy living in a truly splendid location, the atmosphere is totally relaxed and unpretentious with a wide range of leisure amenities to ensure that all guests can enjoy their stay whether they are seeking pure relaxation or an active, sociable holiday. All the rooms are light and spacious in this three-bedroom apartment which is arranged over two storeys. A good-sized lounge/diner has an attractive feature fireplace and steps up to French doors which lead to a sunroom with patio furniture. There are three large bedrooms – two doubles and a twin – with interconnecting doors between the second double and the twin. There is also a large bathroom and fitted kitchen all with views overlooking the courtyard. There is also a shared licensed bar with games and a selection of DVDs, a snooker room with full-size table and a shared, heated 45-foot swimming pool under a glass cover as well as a patio area and garden furniture, large lawned area, ideal for ball games, a large trampoline with full safety net and a BBQ. There is also an indoor and outdoor children's play area.

The market town of Barnstaple with its shops, and restaurants and historic Pannier Market is just 3 miles away. While the vibrant village of Braunton, known for its laid-back vibe, surf shops and cafes is just under 5 miles. For surfers and beach lovers, the golden sands of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe are a huge draw and easily accessible from here – all within 11 miles . The nearby Braunton Burrows are reputed to be England's biggest sand dune system and their lunar appearance is quite unusual when viewed from afar. They are a haven for nature and wildlife and a fascinating place to walk. Cyclists will also enjoy the Tarka Trail which runs for some 30 miles through the scenic North Devon countryside. Bikes can be hired from Braunton or Barnstaple.

The property was surrounded by hills and close to nice beaches. The owner was great, very friendly and always checking we were ok. The property was perfect for our family holiday.
