Saunton Sands Cottages

Saunton Sands really is one of the UK’s finest coastal gems. This beautiful coastal spot situated in North Devon boasts charming properties, friendly locals and a long sandy surf beach.

Saunton also backs onto the Braunton Burrows, which is well known in the UK for being one of the largest sand systems, not only is the area extremely fascinating, it’s also a great spot for exploring too.

Saunton Sands offers a wide range of activities, the main sport in the area is surfing, many tourists flock to this picture perfect location from all corners of the globe. The beach is famous for its fantastic rolling waves, the perfect location for beginners, intermediate and even pro surfers. On a summer’s day the beach comes alive with locals and tourists sharing the slow walls that roll into the beach, many know the beach as the mecca for longboard surfing. If you are completely new to surfing, and would like to give it a go, then be sure to give Sarah Whitley a call at Walking on Waves.
