Set in an elevated and secluded position, overlooking Woolacombe bay, this unique two-bedroom contemporary home and semi-tropical garden overlooks the sea and countryside. Woolacombe village is a short, flat walk from the property and is a lively place with a good selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes. It’s also the starting point for highly scenic coastal walks including those to Baggy and Morte Point (either side of Woolacombe Bay) and further afield to Croyde or Ilfracombe. There is a riding stable close by so you could explore the area on horseback or just watch the horses in the field from the garden. The award-winning Woolacombe Beach is however the main attraction and with a 3-mile stretch of yellow sand, it’s the perfect place to walk, relax, surf or kayak. Nature lovers can also explore the rolling moorland and rugged coastline of Exmoor National Park, a drive away from the property.

A few steps and a gently sloped pathway lead to the front door of this modern property; inside, the decor is simple and fresh with light coastal tones throughout. The spacious open-plan living area has stylish furniture and original artwork and is awash with natural light. During the day, you’ll want to slide open the floor-to-ceiling glass doors and let the sea breeze in and enjoy the Mediterranean style garden and patio space. The sleek kitchen is well-equipped with built-in appliances and glossy cabinets and overlooks a dining table seating six people where you can linger over a casual meal while soaking up the rolling countryside views. There’s also a shower room on the ground floor. From the lounge, stairs lead to the first floor where there are two bedrooms which include a king-size bed and twin beds, both rooms are comfortably sized and have good wardrobe space. Whitewashed walls and natural light create a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere and the king-size bedroom has the bonus of sea views out of a feature window. Just off the bedrooms is an immaculate, family-size bathroom.

The property has plenty of outdoor space including 2 private patios surrounded by palm trees and other semi-tropical plants. Directly outside of the property is a stone paved terrace dotted with potted plants and looking out to rolling hills which is the perfect spot for breakfast whilst the lower paved terrace is perfect for basking in the sun. Here you can relax on a lounger or simply be mesmerised by the majestic ocean views. Come the evening, it’s an idyllic spot for an outdoor meal while watching the sunset over the sea. The property has a large, flat parking area with garage storage facilities to the front.

Very well equipped holiday home in a good location an easy walk from Woolacombe Beach. Modern open plan layout screened from the road by a beautiful garden and with sea views form the lower patio.

The whole experience was really luxurious. The furnishings, equipment, thoughtful extras provided by the hosts. The outdoor areas were fab with lovely views but also very private and the garden was a delight. The owner even gave me some plants to bring home with me... What more can I say except to recommend Palms 1 for a lovely break.

Palms 1 is absolutely amazing. We could not fault a single thing about this gorgeous property. The quality of all the furnishings, equipment and all the welcome treats were exceptional. Thank you so much to the owners for making this the best one we have ever holidayed at, and Marsden's for yet again having the perfect cottages for us.

A perfect little house in an ideal location- everything has been thought of in the house and you are made very welcome. The garden is the icing on the cake and Mr Parkin senior is an absolute gardening legend! Owners really helpful and quick to respond to any little issues which crop up. The property is well laid out, modern and comfortable. However, it is not dog friendly as advertised. There is no garden tk exercise dogs. The information provided stating there is a field nearby to walk dogs is wrong. The field is full of sheep. The sitting area is noisy and near a main road. Often little things count (e.g towels very hard). Good Read morebut not brilliant Hide

Couldnt fault the property really. If I was to nitpick there were a couple of places under furniture what were not swept. I also found the bed too soft along with the leather sofa but as I said thats nitpicking. We also didnt realise how many steps there were up to the house which isnt suitable if your are getting on in age (which we are). But overRead moreall I would really recommend this house! Hide

We love Woolacombe Beach, therefore situation of Palms 1 was just wonderful, just down the road, although a bit of a climb. Very clean, lots of goodies and toiletries. very well equipped, the only thing i think they could do was to have another 4 mugs, other than that perfect.
