On a former working dairy farm in the heart of the Devon countryside, this property is a lovingly restored stone barn conversion completed to a high standard in 2014 offering plenty of character and space with the added bonus of an outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub in the walled garden. The open-plan living space and finish of the property means that guests will find it the perfect home from home in Devon.

Inside, the impressive, vaulted ceiling and exposed oak beams combine with a mixture of slate and oak flooring to provide a delightful living space. The well-equipped country cream kitchen area, complete with butler sink, is next to the Juliet balcony which overlooks the sheltered enclosed garden, with countryside views beyond. If you are not outside barbecuing, why not plan your next day's activities over an evening meal at the oak dining table or relax in the comfy reclining leather seats. A solid wooden staircase leads down to the attractively presented bedrooms – one king and one twin, located at each end of the barn, both with en-suite facilities. On this lower level, three sets of stunning doors all open out onto the patio and a good size lawn sits within the sheltered walls. The outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub is sure to prove a favourite throughout the year.

Just under 1.5 miles away and down a quiet farm lane from the property, you’ll find the great village inn in Muddiford, offering both bar and restaurant facilities for hungry and thirsty guests. There are also plenty of activities nearby such as horse riding, shooting and fishing on offer for those wishing to add to countryside rambles or days on the beach. If you wish to explore the area further, the property is just over 6 miles from the edge of Exmoor National Park where you can roam and discover the delights of the countryside, yet you are also within 11 miles of the golden surf beaches and rugged coastline of North Devon at Woolacombe so this property provides a superb rural holiday base for couples, friends and family.

The cottage is set back up a long long track but good directions were given. Location was great for all the North Devon locations we were looking at exploring with our two dogs. It took some getting used to having upside down house with bedrooms downstairs but there is a stair gate so dogs cant run straight down. Theres plenty of room to relax in tRead morehe cottage and good comfortable sofas too. Very warm with underfloor heating, the owners were very accommodating and would answer any questions we had. Really beautiful property in a great location. Would recommend Woolacombe beach and Arlington court for great dog walks. The Granary garden is very muddy in the wet so bring plenty of dog towels for feet wiping :) Hot tub was lush even on a rainy day. Luxurious bedrooms and en suites with plenty of space upstairs for everyone!

A more quiet cottage you will not find , excellent for the dogs and a hot tub to unwind in , and in close proximity to many fabulous locations and beaches .. loved our stay , thank you

Lovely week at The Granary. Lovely and spacious for four humans and two dogs. Quiet location perfect for a relaxing break but plenty of areas for walking. Amenities are all really good and the enclosed garden is perfect for the doggies.

Wonderful! Everything you could wish for inside and put. So much thought put into what's needed in a kitchen (even a slow cooker, great to back to dinner ready)! Spotlessly clean. Largest hot tub I've ever seen. Enclosed, private garden. Heaven!

Lovely holiday cottage, perfect location for a relaxing break, the bedrooms were comfortable and having both with en-suite was great, upstairs the kitchen was well equipped and well laid out. The hot tub was in a great position in the garden, and we found it easy to relax into it after a day out exploring the local area. If you are looking for somewhere out of the way then The Granary is for you. Situated on an old dairy farm about 1 mile off the main road through Muddiford village. Enclosed garden is great and the hot tub was well used. You are central to north and west coasts. 30 mins to Lynton, 20 to Ilfracombe, 30 to Appledore, 25 to Staunton sands. Weve stayed at the Granary a number of times and always found it to be a fantastic holiday cottage. Great layout and location, always spotless and our Labrador Betty loves it as well.

What a fantastic property and in such a beautiful location just what we were looking for, plenty of walks accompanied by Reggie the dog for company. Would I recommend this property absolutely in a heart beat, will we be back yes next year.
