Set in an idyllic location in the heart of the South Hams (right in Agatha Christie country!), this farmhouse dates back some 250 years and is one of the oldest properties in Galmpton.
Enter the cottage on the ground floor where a cosy living room awaits, complete with cushy sofas, an open fire and a Smart TV, along with a selection of DVDs, games and books. The kitchen and utility area offers everything needed for short or long stays and the dining room comfortably seats eight guests. Finishing this floor is a cloakroom with a WC. Up on the first floor, you’ll find all the bedrooms along with a family bathroom with a corner bath and a separate shower. The master bedroom is king-size with an en-suite shower, and then there are two further king-size rooms and a twin. All the rooms boast TVs. Outside the front of the property, there are lawned areas making up a country garden where you can sit on the bench and listen to the birds.
The ancient village of Galmpton is situated within enviable reach of Agatha Christie's famous Greenway house (1.5 miles), a National Trust property with incredible views over the River Dart. Hop on the Dartmouth Steam Railway (under 1 mile) which passes through Kingswear (4.5 miles) where you can pick up the ferry for the short crossing to Dartmouth. This area is a walker’s paradise with some excellent trails along the popular South West Coast Path. For other attractions, the model village at Babbacombe (8.5 miles) is delightful to walk around and nearby Paignton Zoo (3.5 miles) is well regarded for its wildlife conservation efforts with an impressive collection of wildlife.
