Description

Clearwater is a beautiful house set in an elevated position offering guests the most spectacular view Torbay has to offer! From the front of the house you'll be greeted by panoramic views of Thatcher Rock, blue seas and looking out towards Paignton and Brixham in the distance. It doesn't really get much better than this. The property offers guests a tranquil, luxurious base with ample room for all of the family, with driveway parking, views and a quirky history. Clearwater used to be the accommodation for celebrities doing shows at Torquay Princess Theatre. This house has seen the likes of Shirley Bassey, Jim Davidson and Des O'Connor to only name a few, in tribute to this interesting history the Owners have created a 'Celebrity Corner' with a piano and signed images of a the famous faces that have had the pleasure of staying at this house. Apparently the famous and their friends would gather around the piano and sing songs as entertainment when they were not on the stage! 

Thatcher Avenue itself is an exclusive location, each property is private and detached and within less than a 10 minute walk to Meadfoot Beach. This beach is a shingle beach with cliffs surrounding the area which offers a more quiet beach location, it also has an interesting history, Charles Darwin and Agatha Christie use to enjoy visiting this beach if staying in Devon. 

Clearwater is set over three floors however, guests only have access to two of the floors. The Ground Floor hosts all of the social spaces in the property, with a large spacious open plan lounge, celebrity corner, dining and sun lounge. This moves through to the kitchen with a second dining table and chairs, this leads to the laundry room, downstairs w.c. and through to the garage. Every window at the front of the house boasts the glorious sea view! From the lounge you can access the outside space at the front of the house, immediately in front of the lounge is a loggia, moving to the second terrace is a sun lounger location and then heading to the next section is the huge grass sloped garden. All with views over to Thatcher Rock and to Brixham. The first floor houses the bedrooms and bathrooms. The three King bedrooms offer panoramic sea views, the master bedroom has a balcony with sun loungers and bistro set, perfect for breakfast in the morning sun!

The Living room leads to The Loggia. Celebrity Corner Due to the interesting and quirky history of Clearwater the Homeowners have created what we all like to call Celebrity Corner. This Loggia then leads to another paved Terrace with Two Sun Loungers. There is a third Terrace in front of the Kitchen area which is suitable if you are having a Barbeque (Please be aware this property does not come with a Barbeque however, the guests are able to bring disposable Barbeques to use if they would like. Please dispose of this Barbeque appropriately). The Terraces then lead to the vast garden which is just under half an acre, it has beautiful views of the sea and is slightly sloped and is grassed with trees. There is a greenhouse however, please do not leave children unattended by the Greenhouse. Parking: Parking for three vehicles is available on the Driveway. Security deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £1000, which is payable to Marsdens Devon Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Power and Heat: Gas and Electricity included in the rent. Gas Fire in the Lounge.
