This is a fantastic base for discovering spectacular countryside, golden sandy beaches, and quaint villages with plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants.

Reaching this apartment, based at the top of the building, you will find the cheerful and inviting open-plan lounge/diner. The tastefully decorated lounge is an ideal space to unwind in at the end of a great day, with TV/DVD, a range of board games and books, and plenty of seating including a sofa bed (if guests require). The pretty dining area offers views across the Rivers Torridge and Taw and across to Instow and Crow Point. The light and welcoming kitchen is equipped with everything you may need and has an additional dining area for breakfast or a quick snack. Appledore makes a lovely base for discovering North Devon, with the picturesque Victorian seaside resort of Westward Ho! (3 miles) and the sandy beach at Instow (5.5 miles) both nearby. The North Devon Maritime Museum is just a few metres away, and Northam Burrows Country Park is within 1.5 miles. From the popular market town of Bideford (3.5 miles), you can take a boat trip to the island of Lundy. You can also visit the historic fishing village of Clovelly (14 miles) or the bustling town of Great Torrington (10.5 miles), which is home to RHS Garden Rosemoor and Dartington Crystal.

A very comfortable and well equipped apartment. There are excellent views to be had across the estuary. Because the apartment is on the second floor it may not be suitable for those with any mobility issues.

Equipped comfortable apartment with great views from the living room. Great location. Parking was a nightmare we had to pay 22.50 for the week on the pay and display car park. Close to local shops, quay. lovely small village, the flat needed a good clean and update

Great location just a minutes walk from the Quay, shops and restaurants with lovely views from both the front and the back of the flat over the estuary. Unfortunately we found the property very dusty and in need of some TLC, it had obviously been a holiday let for many years and some maintenance had been overlooked. Lovely flat extremely well equipped and very clean and comfortable. Beautiful views from every window and in a good location. Some people may find the three flights of stairs a problem but we loved the flat.

This little flat is a little worn in places but there is everything you need and it is comfortable. The views from the lounge are lovely and although there are quite a few stairs up to the flat, you wouldnt get the view if it was a lower floor place. Appledore is really lovely with plenty of fine places to eat . We had a lovely holiday.

Lovely little flat in the centre of Appledore. Easy to get to everything and close to parking. Flat is well kept with everything you could possibly need in it. Access to a nice courtyard which will be lovely in the summer

Central location ,never had to pay for parking all week always a space somewhere. Great apartment, everything you need . Shower is fantastic. Would definitely return if visiting Appledore, stairs not an issue as stated in the information but not for the elderly or people who struggle with stairs . All in all a great place to stay .

The Captains View apartment is well furnished and equipped, its location is convenient to the Quayside. The village is definitely not a shopping area, one small supermarket only. Places to eat are in the expensive band, the Yard, a Tapas style restaurant is good but portions are typically tapas. The Beaver Inn is definitely a pub / restaurant, goodRead more food, but expensive. The Royal George gets top marks for service, quality and quantity, along with the lovely staff. The apartment was very comfortable and in a good situation for touring. Stairs were not good if you have a problem with knees or hips.
