A peaceful retreat ideal for exploring the whole of Devon, set down a long, private lane in a quiet, rural area with views over open countryside to distant Dartmoor.
The romantic rural bolthole, in the heart of the Devon countryside, is perfectly placed for those who love exploring the great outdoors. Head to the coast (18 miles) for long, sandy beaches and windswept clifftop paths, or journey south to discover the remote beauty of Dartmoor National Park (18 miles). There are also some fantastic attractions nearby, including Clovelly (16.5 miles) and Tamar Lakes (13 miles). The cosy cottage has a warming wood burner to snuggle in front of after a long walk, as well as a balcony with superb views across the surrounding countryside.
The cottage has a bright, open-plan living space comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner. The property is warm and inviting, with neutral decor and exposed woodwork. This sociable space allows you to spend quality time together, chatting on the sofa whilst the dinner is cooking and sharing romantic meals at the dining table. Curl up in front of the wood burner to watch a film on the Smart TV, before climbing the open-tread staircase to the stylish double bedroom. Patio doors open onto the balcony, where you can unwind with a glass of wine and take in the gorgeous scenery. Outside, discover a patio area where you can dine alfresco in summer months, as well as a private garden of sloping lawns and mature trees.
The ancient fishing village of Clovelly makes an excellent day out. Wander down its steep, cobbled high street to reach the picturesque quay. Grab a tasty ice cream or a local ale and relax in the sunshine, watching the fishing boats coming and going in the harbour. RHS Garden Rosemoor (9.5 miles) is a must for horticulture enthusiasts. The magnificent garden, nestled in the Torridge Valley, is bursting with colour throughout the year and boasts the South West’s largest rose garden.
