Escape to the country and recharge your batteries with friends or family (plus your canine companions) in this beautiful cottage. Its location makes it an excellent base for exploring North Devon and Cornwall, and you’ll love its original features and welcoming wood burner.

Inside, the barn is designed ‘upside down’ to make the most of its fabulous views across Dartmoor. Go straight up the stairs to the open-plan kitchen/diner, with a soaring ceiling, timber floor and criss-crossing rafters. There’s heaps of space here to prepare meals and enjoy them at the sturdy dining table before you head to the lounge, where you can spend the evenings in the comfortable seating by the wood burner, reading, playing games or watching shows on the Smart TV. The three bedrooms are all on the ground floor: a super-king-size (can be a twin on request) with an en-suite shower room and glazed doors to the patio, a king-size, and a twin with floor-to-ceiling windows; the latter two sharing a bathroom. The outside space is just as special. Get competitive with table tennis in the barn at the top of the drive, exercise dogs in the half-acre paddock, play games in the garden, enjoy a meal around the picnic table or simply relax on the lawn in the sunshine.

Found along a quiet rural track, the cottage is located on the edge of the small village of Shebbear and close to the Tarka Trail, a flat, off-road route through unspoilt countryside which is perfect for walkers and cyclists. Spend a day at the beach, with rocky and secluded Bucks Mill just 12 miles and popular Westward Ho! 16.5 miles or, if water sports appeal, the North Devon Wake Park is 12.5 miles. The historic village of Clovelly is 14.5 miles, as is the family attraction, The Big Sheep.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 super king-size  zip and link, 1 king-size and 1 twin rooms
  • 2 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC, and 1 en-suite shower room with WC
  • Electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and nespresso machine
  • Travel cot and highchair available on request
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs provided)
  • Smart TV, Blu-Ray DVD player and Sonos sound bar in the lounge area and Smart TVs in the King size bedroom and Super King
  • Outdoor patio with rattan furniture and fire pit

Excellent accommodation with top quality fixtures/fitting & nice touches throughout. Plenty of space to spread out. Comfortable warm barn with super responsive owners. Bring wellies in winter if you want off lane walks from the house.

An absolute pleasure to live here for a week, all rooms are very clean and are thoughtfully furnished and decorated with many extra touches not seen elsewhere. The stay here gave us luxury in the Devon countryside and was only 30 minutes from a beach. For families and dog owners there is a picnic area and a large field to run in and a games room.

Lovely barn so spacious clean and modern. great games room for when its raining and it rained a little on our holiday. The nearest beaches were about 30 minutes drive away. The local inn was walkable about 30minutes and they did reasonable priced food. Could not recommend it highly enough plus you have your own orchard and field to romp around in. FRead moreantastic. Beautiful barn conversion, loads of space for people to do their own thing and a well equipped kitchen which will accommodate your needs easily.
