The delightful Lantern Cross Cottage is located in a beautiful rural setting in the heart of the Devonshire countryside and boasts 2 acres of private grounds and an enclosed garden. Originally three separate dwellings, the cottage has been transformed into a charming spacious home where family and friends can get together for a memorable holiday. Gather round the hearth in front of the flickering wood burner on blustery winter’s days, and in the summer months, dine alfresco in the expansive grounds while watching the children and dogs charge around without a care in the world.

The property offers a warm welcome to Devon with its sunny yellow exterior clad with beautiful climbing plants. Inside, exposed beams above stone inglenook fireplaces, low and narrow doorways and a all-electric range cooker give you a sense of the history of this property. The four comfortable bedrooms make a welcome retreat at night, with one of the twin rooms having an interconnecting door: perfect for little ones who want to be near parents.

Pop down to the village of Beaford (less than a mile away) where you will find a lovely pub and restaurant. If you want a greater selection, drive 6 miles to the friendly market town of Torrington with its fantastic selection of visitor attractions in and around the area. You can watch glass being blown at Dartington Crystal, walk around the delightful 65 acres of gardens at RHS Garden Rosemoor and browse the quirky shops and workshops at The Pannier Market. Take a 12-mile trip to the harbour town of Bideford where you can stroll along the historic quayside and ancient bridge or join the renowned Tarka Trail - a beautiful walk at any time of year.

  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 3 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £350 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £40. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Beautiful cottage and garden, very peaceful. We and the dogs had a lovely time. Nearest Village for pubs and shops and take aways ten or fifteen minutes away in Torrington. Thank you Sue for being on hand if needed.

The property is set in beautiful secure grounds, the garden being a paradise for dogs. The property is huge and comfortable and was more than ample for the eight of us and our three dogs. It is central for the coast and local attractions. The Globe in Beaford is a lovely pub serving delicious meals

Amazing garden and view, great size house and comfortable, had a lovely relaxing 2 weeks. Nothing bad to say really except it is right next to a road, it's not overly busy but if you're not used to noise at night you may need earplugs. Can't be helped where the house is though and it wouldn't stop me going again.

Lovely very clean house with everything you need. The garden is huge and the dogs absolutely loved it! And a beautiful view . Would definitely recommend the globe pub for a good meal and the old pub atmosphere. We would definitely stay at lantern cross again.

The main reason we chose this cottage was the garden; 2 secure acres of dog heaven and we wern't disappointed. As far as holiday cottages go, you would be hard pressed to find better. Both for amenities, comfort, quality and of course the garden. The whole cottage is simply immaculate, fully loaded and extremely well laid out. Clearly a great deal Read moreof thought, time and money has gone into what they offer. Nothing has been overlooked and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Hide
