Devon has a variety of wonderful farm shops, all of which are full of delicious fresh and tasty Devon local produce. 

Showcasing the very best of local Devon farmers, you’ll find shelves piled high with apples, oranges and strawberries, along with vegetables such as potatoes, cabbages and carrots, as well as much, much more. There are often locally made cheeses, honey, cider, fresh milk, meats, fish and ice cream too – what more could you want?

Blackberry Farm Shop

 Blackberry Farm Shop

Blackberry Farm is a lovely, award-winning, family-run farm shop and tearoom which opened in 2002 near Holsworthy. Surrounded by farmland, and with stunning views of Dartmoor, the farm has steadily grown since and now supports a herd of commercial beef cattle and a flock of sheep – with their own award-winning beef and lamb sold in the shop. 

They also bake their own sausage rolls, scotch eggs, pies and pasties, as well as homemade soups, cakes and scones all available in the tearoom too – yum!

Besshill Farm Shop

Besshill Farm Shop is owned by the Mather family, who have been farming for over 100 years. The farm shop, which is located on the outskirts of Exmoor, sells fresh seasonal vegetables, fruit, salads, eggs and dairy, as well as meat. As well as Besshill, they have another shop in Combe Martin - they also offer free local deliveries and nationwide deliveries too.

Marshford Organic Foods

 

Marshford Organic Foods, in Northam, is run by the Ebdon family and has been established for nearly 40 years. They specialise in vegetables, salads and herbs grown in their nursery, and they supply eggs, dairy and meat products from their farming friends across North Devon – all certified organic.

Ben’s Farm Shop

Ben’s Farm Shop has a small chain of well-stocked farm shops in Staverton, Totnes, Exeter and Yealmpton. Ben’s Farm Shop Kitchen is based just a few 100 metres from their Staverton shop on Hole Farm and is where they produce all their own products from scratch. They make over 300 products themselves, from the ever-popular chocolate brownie to charcuterie and award-winning mince pies.

Stokeley Farm Shop

Located in Stokenham, Stokeley Farm Shop has a deli, butchery, restaurant and plant centre – plus they even stock beer from their own brewery! There is also a pop-up shop outside which features local artisans and craftspeople, and you can even hire an electric bike from here to explore the beautiful surrounding South Devon countryside if you wish (booking in advance is recommended for the e-bikes).

Ullacombe Farm

 

Situated within the beautiful Dartmoor National Park, Ullacombe Farm has a welcoming farm shop, café, butchers, children’s play areas and farm animals. Offering all locally sourced products, they have a vast selection to choose from and a range of freshly prepared meals in their delightful kitchen – including cooked breakfasts, delicious sandwiches, proper Devonshire cream teas – and everything in between!

Lifton Strawberry Fields Farm Shop

 Lifton Farm Shop

Lifton Farm Shop, situated just off the A30 in Lifton, has been growing seasonal fruit and vegetables to stock the shop for over 20 years. You’ll find everything from fruit, veg and meat through to baked goodies and a deli counter. There’s also an on-site restaurant and coffee shop, serving delicious, cooked meals, coffee and cake all day. 

In the summer, they also offer pick-your-own strawberries, wildflowers and sunflowers, followed by pumpkins in the autumn.

Darts Farm

Darts Farm, located near the M5 in Topsham, is a great day out in itself with a farm shop, café, and outdoor play area – you can even explore the farm itself and pay a visit to the resident animals. This multi-award-winning large-scale farm shop is run by the Dart brothers and has an artisan food hall, butchers, drinks cellar, fishmongers and deli. 

In the summer, you can pick your own sunflowers, and pumpkins each October.

Greendale Farm Shop

Greendale is a large farm shop with award-winning butchers, fishmongers and a deli, as well as a restaurant and a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. Situated just off the M5 near Exeter, there’s also a children’s play area and pushchair-friendly farm trail through 15 acres of farmland; you can see the resident chickens and ducks, visit Oscar the curious ostrich and even ‘test drive’ the farm’s vintage tractors.

James and Olivia Miller run Millers Farm Shop, on the outskirts of Axminster, which sells vegetables that are grown on the farm or provided by local suppliers. The farm shop also stocks fish, meat, milk, cream and a variety of local cheeses as well as bread, pastries, teas, coffees and juices.

There’s also a café on site for breakfasts, toasties and home-baked cakes – all made using locally sourced produce.
